2D Momentum

Momentum is conserved as a vector. In a collision, two objects moving at right angles stick together — add their momentum vectors to find the combined velocity and direction. In an explosion, one object splits into fragments whose momenta must add back to the original. Use the tabs to explore each, then try the Quiz.
